Eclipse Ep

Even if not sample-based, dubstep and bass music music often pay duties to samples in terms of atmospheres, climax and several evocative dimensions.
This new Kaometry release opens with a spanish guitar and it's brilliant, straight, somehow very "detailed": if you try to image a sort of audio zooming you'll distinctly hear the tension of the strings.
Many would say that dubstep/bass music is a matter of rhythm and sound research, Thed Drugg tell us it is much more interesting to consider it as a matter of tension.
Useless to say that is also another possible image of Kaometry, where several and powerfull wires come across a unique platform re-distributing tension, a crystal, an organized connection of powers. Following its multicultural genesis, Kaometry project is dedicated to the promotion of non-conformist, innovative and eclectic music, producing the music that really moves, stimulates and adds intensity to our life experiences.

Thed Drugg, coming from Spain, for this Eclipse EP organize a classical but surprising overture whose aim is to "connect electricity and start the tension": then he's down with the road and not surely across the street. Straightforward bass music, syncopated and doubled bass drums, acid and robotic synths, everything blasting, cutting and crossing through speaker's membranes and making them vibrating crazy. And while your body follows the beat, your mind travels along with the ancient melody that's soloing across the track, a kind of chant coming from memories.
The trip keeps on with the following "Fuckers": same ingredients but even more syncopated, disturbed and tilted, at the end you'll find yourself tangled and stretched as a rubber band!
You don't really know how, and that's always a good signal…

Two great stompers from French bass music scene gave their support to this release remixing Thed's tracks: Lord Llamatron reworks "Eclipse" amplifying its mechanical taste, a sort of Autechre's off-beat architecture suddenly and mysteriously falling into black (bass) holes.
Broad Rush finds a more electro-techno approach, editing "Fuckers" with great pumpy bass-lines and some liberating moments of straight 4/4 beat.
